The Farmington Valley Woman's Club is a non-profit organization and a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) and the General Federation of Women's Club of Connecticut (GFWC/CT). Our club was founded in 1949 and in 1950 joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Our club is active in local and civic affairs, and any woman in the Farmington Valley is eligible to join. Members work together to help the community in many ways. We encourage all members to participate in as many activities as possible. It is a great way to meet the other members and our accomplishments give us all a great deal of pride as we work together. Many club members have served as officers on both District and States levels of the General Federation Clubs of Connecticut, including Helen Barakauskas who is the current 2nd Vice President of GFWC/CT.
